Oh Hogwarts, Dumbledores Gay!!!

NEW YORK (AP) -- Harry Potter fans, the rumors are true: Albus Dumbledore, master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay.

Dumbledore, played by Michael Gambon, was in love with his male rival, the author of Harry Potter books says.

1 of 2 J.K. Rowling, author of the mega-selling fantasy series that ended last summer, outed the beloved character Friday night while appearing before a full house at Carnegie Hall. After reading briefly from the final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," she took questions from audience members.

She was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds "true love."

"Dumbledore is gay," the author responded to gasps and applause.

She then explained that Dumbledore was smitten with rival Gellert Grindelwald, whom he defeated long ago in a battle between good and bad wizards. "Falling in love can blind us to an extent," Rowling said of Dumbledore's feelings, adding that Dumbledore was "horribly, terribly let down."

Dumbledore's love, she observed, was his "great tragedy."

"Oh, my god," Rowling concluded with a laugh, "the fan fiction."

Potter readers on fan sites and elsewhere on the Internet have speculated on the sexuality of Dumbledore, noting that he has no close relationship with women and a mysterious, troubled past. And explicit scenes with Dumbledore already have appeared in fan fiction.

Rowling told the audience that while working on the planned sixth Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," she spotted a reference in the script to a girl who once was of interest to Dumbledore. A note was duly passed to director David Yates, revealing the truth about her character.

Rowling, finishing a brief "Open Book Tour" of the United States, her first tour here since 2000, also said that she regarded her Potter books as a "prolonged argument for tolerance" and urged her fans to "question authority."

Not everyone likes her work, Rowling said, likely referring to Christian groups that have alleged the books promote witchcraft. Her news about Dumbledore, she said, will give them one more reason

THE SALT N PEPA SHOW... its On!!!!!

For those that dont know I was a SALT N PEPA fiend... baby, I loved these ladies to no end. When I heard that there was reality show I damn near had another heart attack (inside joke)... It funny now to see them as mothers, Salt is now married and apparently is a sanctified Ms. holy roller.. and Pepa is still "the party girl" .... finally getting to see the real deal attitudes of these ladies amazes me... the way they relate to each other is hysterical. Salt obviously holds on to trying to be the boss of the two, with Pep still being the spitfire round da way girl... I took a minute to watch the first episode clips on VH1 and the first show already had me cracking up... Take a look at some bits of the show.. tell me what you think!!!!

Its going to be sooooo interesting to me just tosee what the ultimate goal is in putting the two ladies back together becuz they are sooooo obviously different now.. and just as a side note.. where the hell is Spinderella... and did she get that dog tooth fixed???? I hope so.. cant wait to see what this show is gonna bring!!!! DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMA...

The Girls are doing it proper!!!

Well folks, I must say it looks like the girls are at it again... the two best CD's to drop in a long time...Jill Scott (The Real Thing) and Keyshia Cole (Just Like You) ... my god, listeners are instantly captured by the flowly smooth silk of Jill voice to the real life heart break stories of a "Mary J Blige inspired" Keyshia Cole...

Extraordinary is all I can say on both accounts.. If you havent gotten them, make sure you do because these two releases are classic worthy! Jill melts you over ice with the seduction of "crown royal " while Keyshia tells you the story of how she's "falling out" of love love with a man she though was the one...

With an attentive ear you can hear each queen belt out their story in distinctly different methods but both are just as effective and addictive... Yes, they do leave you wanting more while still filling you to the brim. So kudos, props, and much respect due... I love them and Im sure you will too... nothing but great things are coming their way!

Kanye Kicks Ass

Kanye poised for victory over 50 Cent09/18/2007 7:36 PM, APNekesa Mumbi Moody

It's not like Kanye West needed an ego boost, but here it comes: Sales figures confirm his "Graduation" album outsold 50 Cent's "Curtis" in the much-hyped rap sales showdown with nearly 1 million copies sold the first week, the best debut of the year for the struggling music industry.

Although Nielsen SoundScan figures for the albums' first-week sales were to be officially released Tuesday night, music industry officials who requested to remain anonymous because the figures hadn't come out yet, said West had sold about 955,000 copies. It would be his best first-week sales ever and top the year's previous first-week champ, Linkin Park, which sold 623,000 of "Minutes to Midnight" in May.

West was hardly rubbing it in 50's face. In fact, he said he was humbled by the win.
"It feels overwhelming," West told The Associated Press, as he walked to Def Jam's offices on Tuesday afternoon. "Everyone is coming up to me and telling me how proud they are of me."
"We're not gloating," Def Jam President Jay-Z told AP. "He's celebrating his win. ... in his mind, he believed he could win the whole time."

It appeared 50 Cent's album sold more than 500,000 copies since being released Sept. 11, but it was still a considerable letdown. His last album, 2005's "The Massacre," sold 1.1 million in its first week.
Last month, 50 didn't think of West as much of a competitor: "It's great marketing on Def Jam's part, by putting us out there at the same time and make like we can actually be compared on some level," he told the AP. In another interview, he said he would retire if West outsold him.

But while West is enjoying a No. 2 position on the charts with his hit "Stronger," 50 has struggled to connect with radio. None of his songs has matched past smashes like "In Da Club"; even his single "Ayo Technology," featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, is languishing at No. 19.
50's album was originally scheduled to be released in June on Interscope Records, a division of Universal Music Group, but was pushed back to Sept. 11. Soon after, Kanye West, whose album was supposed to come out sometime in late summer, pushed his date to Sept. 11 as well. But Antonio "L.A." Reid, chairman of Island Def Jam, also a division of Universal, says it wasn't initially intended to be a jab at 50.

"The decision was really driven by the (MTV Video Music Awards), because the VMAs were on Sept. 9 ... we wanted to use it as a launching pad again for this album," he said.
West said it was his idea to go directly against 50.

"I was the underdog because I sold less records in the past, so it was a win-win for me," he said. "If I lost, everyone would be happy that I even went up against him. People have this perception of me being arrogant, but would an arrogant person risk the chance of coming in the second spot just to be a part of history? To me, it's more about fans and the entertainment value and good music."

Shaq, says gimme back my money and go!

MIAMI (AP) -- Shaquille O'Neal has filed to divorce his wife after nearly five years of marriage, his attorney said Tuesday night.
Attorney Ira Elegant said the petition was filed on behalf of the
Miami Heat center in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Tuesday. It was not immediately clear who is representing Shaunie O'Neal in the case.
The Heat did not have an immediate comment, and Shaquille O'Neal did not respond to a request for comment made through the team.
According to the filing, which was first reported by The Miami Herald on its Web site Tuesday night, Shaquille O'Neal is asking Shaunie O'Neal to provide a "correct accounting of all money, funds, stocks, bonds, and other securities" that she had access to or obtained during the marriage.
They are the parents of six children; Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal had four together, and each had one other before their Dec. 26, 2002, wedding.
Shaquille O'Neal makes $20 million annually in his contract with the Heat, plus endorsement deals that are estimated to be worth several million more each year. The couple has also listed their home on Miami Beach's posh Star Island for about $32 million, or roughly $13 million more than they paid for it after O'Neal was traded to the Heat by the
Los Angeles Lakers before the 2004-05 season.

BET Awards '07 in Review

If you havent had the opportunity to see the BET Awards, please feel free to share in my highlighted review of what I thought were key moments. The show opened with the oh so talented Jennifer Hudson, joined by Jennifer Holiday(wearing really bad man drag). Together they sang "I'm not Going", hearing the two voices together you were able to get an appreciation for what was and an even better appreciation of what is. Holiday held her own in what seemed to be a competition on her part to prove she can still belt the song, however the attempt was lost somewhere in the overly made facial expressions the animal growls and the almost scary head spasms she had while trying to achieve audience reaction. Hudson on the other hand, OWNS this song now, her voice is like chocolate silk... smooth, heavy and from the soul. BET will surely air the show numerous times in the upcoming months so when you can, look out for it.
Just as last year, Mo'nique came out doing a dance routine, this year Mo'Nique did her version of De Ja' Vou by Beyonce. Unfortunately, (God Bless her soul) couldnt throw it dow like she did last year. However, her big-boned back-up dancers gave it up, by throwing those mighty sides of beef in the air, I was shocked!!. I know the backstage was full of warm compress units for all the charlie horses those girls had. However, they did their thing and held it down. Mo'nique was lacking in her usual spark and didnt quite have the routine down, by the end of the number she has lost one shoe and due to her lower and middle belly, had to have LL COOL J come and remove the remaining shoe so she could bounce around with swollen feet, or ankles or something that was puffy down there...

As the show moved forward, other highlights soon came into play, (yes, I'm skippin Mr. Ne-Yo, who did collect an award, (much props to him...) my girl KEESH, Puffy and Lil' Kim gave us, performance... Loved it , loved it, looooooooooooved it.. KEESH looked great, slim waisted white outfit, just beautiful, Puffy as always did his thing and then laced the number with Lil' Kim (who is holding tight to her prison pounds). All in all, the performance was great.

Other highlights included , the performance and award acceptance of my boy T.I. , dude is definitely able to balance both words excellently. Ghetto vs. Chic, he owns both styles. Even with his street edge, I've always admired his "go get it" no nonsense style. T.I does it like no other can...Kudos! The show continued with memorable performance by Beyonce, "Get Me Bodied" but damn if Mo' didnt have to step her chubby legs in and mess that up. God knows I love Mo'nique but she is getting progressively ghetto... some one needs to knock on her door and let her know she left "Balti'mo" a long time ago.. jeesh! Kelly Rowland also came in as the Beyonce trailer with a great performance in a WonderWoman costume remake, but sadly her vocals were so off, it robbed her of any chance in having a successful stage show. I will give her props on not being ashamed of crawling between her dancers legs... mmmm!

The turning moment of the night was the tribute to Gerald Levert, by Ms. Yolanda, his father Eddie, lady Gladys and momma Patti, they sounded off with their version of "Wind Beneath my Wings"... As Patti began to give commentary on the life and acheivements of Gerald, you could see she was emotionally torn and her make-up was about to crack. So, they quickly moved into set with Eddie begining the song, followed by verses by Yolanda, then Gladys... but when Patti hit the stage... baby WHAT!!!! Patti stole the show and the song and I was not mad at her.. she gave it all.. she was looking grand and sounded outstanding... she definitely gave her heart in that song, I just wish she had let Yolanda get a little more but when you colabo with Patti you best be prepared to humble your talents...
The showed continued with a ghetto infused and inspired 50 cent number "Amusement Park", why lord?? why must we continue to get on national TV portraying images of hoodism? Not only was the performance terrible but I think he was lip synching some of the song, what the hell??? If it wasnt for his muscles, 50 cent would be worth just that... 50 damn cents...before he drops this new CD in Sept, I hope there's a whole lot of revamping going on... Did I mention how Robin Thicke is now on his jock...??? what the hell is up with 50? Always carrying the token white boy, he drops Eminem and picks up Robin... next thing you know Robin is going to be sporting a wife beater and gold grill.. Imagine that...!!!!

As the show concluded, they gave honor to Diana "The Boss" Ross . Mo'Nique called out Alicia (where the hell are you !!! ) Keyes to introduce the performers for Diana, she was honored in song by Eryka Badu "Love Hang Over", Chaka Khan "I'm coming out" and Stevie Wonder (?) as the music concluded she was greeted onstage by all her kids... I mean all her kids... even the 100% black daughter by Mr. Barry Gordy... !!!! I was impressed with Eryka doing love hangover, so much so that I think if she re-makes the song, she may actually have a hit on her hands... Diana was very graceful, stable and poised as she accepted her award, at a ripe 63, she spoke well and looked even better (lopsided tits and all). It was so nice to hear some Diana favorites and to see the acheivements of this Icon. I love the fact that she made it a point to check Mr. 50 Cent in so many words by saying "to have longevity in your career you dont need to go around saying the F-word" .. which he so ignorantly chanted during his lame performance. In speaking of whack performances, what was Ciara thinking??? Strutting around looking all of 80 lbs. grinding, jerking and humping herself in the face of the audience..not to mention just sounding a HOT MESS... poor girl really need to step up the game and start carrying herself as a lady and not a hood-chick! Maybe taking some notes from Mamma Ross might help...
Overall this years show was good, much better than seasons before, even through the desperate attempts and the CEO's of BET to stay young (i.e Debra's bad hair cut and old boys' tacky white suit) We could have done without the repeated announcements new shows pending the fall line up(especially the stuck up black kids show...ewww) I can say BET executed an awards show with some memorable moments. Im sure there are many others out there with conflcting opinions and/or other key point highlights. I welcome the chance to read what you thought. Please see below the attached Fashions that hit the red carpet before the Awards show... there were a great number of dont do's...but here's some Diva Noir...
